From the beginning
Where we are now
From the beginning we've both been solo artists in our own right. Still are. Check out our latest solo releases and back catalogues here:-
We also work with other people from time to time. We always will.
However, working together as The Secret Magpies has really taken us by surprise. We never expected it to be so satisfying, and creative. We produce stuff that we never thought possible. We get a tremendous buzz on stage too - we're never quite sure what is going to happen! We're not always in control. Some songs just develop a life of their own. We like it that way. We'll go wherever the songs take us.
We've been very busy recording. We have loads of material we’d love you to hear.
Released so far:-
A Certain Kind of Distance (Chambers)
Shifting Sands (Leader)
See You Soon (Chambers)
The Life and Death of a Wave (Leader)
Fields of Essex (Becky's Song) (R. and C. Chambers)
They are all available on Napster, iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal, iHeartRadio, YouTube, Deezer, and other stores & streaming services. In fact you should be able to find us anywhere there is music on-line.
From October 6th 2018 these 6 songs are also available as a limited edition, signed and numbered CDR E.P., available only at gigs.
January 21st 2019 saw the release of "When all Hours became Midnight" one of Autumn's songs. 4 minutes of pure, dark enchantment, based on the novel Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke.
On the gigging side of things, we're always out and about. Check out the gig list. We're always on the look-out for interesting listening venues, so if you know of one, get in touch.
